ARTANA Panorama of New England Art

Gallery Profile

Artana was founded by its current Director Heather Roy with a Grand Opening exhibition on June 8, 2000. The gallery's charter clients are primarily from Metro-West since Artana's early years were spent hosting shows in a grand Victorian in the Town of Framingham. Due to an increase in Boston Proper clientele, Artana relocated to Beacon Street in Brookline's lively Coolidge Corner in October of 2003. Artana then moved once more to re-open its doors in October 2008 on Boylston Street in Boston's Back Bay. Today, Artana operates as an online art gallery offering fine art consulting and framing services.

We are proud of our 9 year history with over 75 shows and counting. Independent of "four walls", Artana's mission remains steadfast: to promote and publicize leading contemporary artists and educate the public on the "art" of art collecting. To accomplish this, Artana curates and hosts comprehensible exhibitions and offers a select and growing collection of original art, with a focus on collectable work created by accomplished New England artists.

Client Services

Art Recommendations

Artana’s large stable of artists includes art in various mediums, sizes, styles and price points. While some of our clients are seasoned art collectors, many of our customers are first-time art buyers. Entering into any new “arena”, such as art collecting, is exciting and can be confusing or overwhelming. To persuade you to follow your yearnings, Artana is interested in learning about your needs to better aid you in your quest for original art. Basic questions such as “What type of art do you favor?” “Is there a preferred size? Are you partial towards a particular medium (oil, watercolor, sculpture)?” Where does your budget fall ($200-$6,000)? will get us all going in the right direction. As we begin this process of “Show and Tell” (we will show you pre-selected works /you will provide us with feedback!), recommending artists whose work fit your desire and criteria will in fact snowball. Apart from office or in-home visits, we will notify you regarding new art on premise that we think you’d appreciate seeing first. We have found a working relationship expedites the “placement” process for people interested in owning art and it is our preferred way of conducting business.

Corporate and Residential Consultations

Since art has a tendency to compete for your attention making a decision even more difficult, pieces that you favor equally on-line may not be equals when occupying a room in your office or home. To ease the burden of selecting and owning the right one, Artana will make a visit (complimentary 30 mile radius) to your business or residence with a group of paintings based on your selection. During our visit, we will also help with recommendations as to how and where to best place your new addition. We can also point out key areas in your space worthy of art and suggest a handful of possibilities.

Online Shows with Opening Receptions

Periodically, Artana hosts receptions for its leading artists. The events are open to the public and the receptions mark the beginning of a new show. The day or weekend event is an ideal time to meet the artist(s) whose work is being featured by ArtanaGallery.com. The local openings provide a venue for artists to share their work, interest, and vision with art enthusiasts; It doubles as an anticipated social for those interested in talking "art" all night, meeting people, or simply bumping into familiar faces! Supervised children are always welcomed to partake in the addictive experience of "Meet the Artist" openings.
