ARTIST STATEMENT
"Visions"
The seacoast and music has been the focus of my work for the last two years.
I have a strong attachment to the seacoast and it has existed since youth. Most of my works in this exhibition capture the Outer Cape- places I enjoy and visit often.
Interpreting music continues to be an adventure that stimulates my imagination and ability to create new work. There is an emotional response and I feel the choice of color serves to reinforce my expression of sound and color.
As I look around at both bodies of work, I am surprised
at how autobiographical it is.
It becomes obvious that many of my paintings record the visual experience
as well as the special happenings in my life.
