SPOT LIGHT – 11/2017 ROBIN REMICK
Robin Remick’s abstract painting “Birdsong” secured the lead image in the Arts and Leisure calendar section of Gulfshore Life's November issue.
This painting printed on page 224 as lively as it is in real life - a perfect balance of warm oranges and cool grays, with enough sunny yellow to make it true to its title: It literally “sings” on the gallery wall.

The ICA values not only the financial support you provide, but also the energy you bring to our organization as friends and family in the ICA community. We recently spoke with two long-term members, Heather Roy and Stephen Skuce, Rare Books Coordinator for the MIT Libraries, who shared their thoughts about the ICA and our current exhibitions.HEATHER ROY is a self-proclaimed "ICA Fan," a long standing member, and Founder/Gallery Director of ARTANA.
Why did you join the ICA?
I joined because of its good vibe. I felt it as a Mass Art student and I feel it still as an arts professional.
What has been your favorite show or artist?
Jeff Koons's big, shiny rabbit stopped me in my tracks! Tara Donovan's suspended Styrofoam cup installation transported me to a place that could well have been heaven.
What events do you enjoy attending at the ICA?
I am a softie for an ICA opening night even if the date or time isn't opportune. Running into familiar faces from all walks of life and hob-knobbing with the friendly ICA staff is the perfect ending to my work day.
What is your favorite ICA color?
ORANGE!
If Shepard Fairey made a print of you, what word or phrase would be placed beneath the picture?
"Tenacious."
